- Students of Electrical Engineering visitedHydro Station, Khizrabad on 10-03-2011
A visit was organized for the students of Second year Electrical Engineering for a visit to a function Hydro station Khizrabad. A total of 46 students and three faculty members visited the Generating station and had the opportunity to see the actual functioning of the hydro plant and its associated systems. The plant is built on river YAMUNA and has a total of four generating units. It generates 08 MW of power. The generation is at 6600 Volts which is stepped up to 66KV in the switch yard and is supplied to various load centers.
The students have learnt a lot by observing for themselves, an operational power plant. Department plans to organize such visits regularly for the practical knowledge enhancement of the future electrical engineers.
